“What type of world do I want to live in by the year 2030?”

With the theme #2030NOW, that is the question which will guide the conversation at the Social Good Summit in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where citizens from around the country will unite to unlock the potential of technology in making the world a better place.

Held annually during the UN General Assembly Week, the Social Good Summit unites a dynamic community of national leaders and grassroots activists to discuss solutions for the greatest challenges of our time. The Bangladesh chapter of the Social Good Summit is a daylong conference which will examine the impact of technology and new media on social good initiatives in Bangladesh and around the world on September 7, 2016 at the Univeristy of Dhaka. Youth participants will be taking part in a Writing Contest answering the question “What type of world do I want to live in by the year 2030?” During the Celebrity Endorsement portion of the programme, experts from various fields will speak to participants on the role of new media and youth in attaining the SDGs and a better world by 2030.

While at the Summit, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations, will hear from the UNDP about its various youth campaigns, as well as respected members of the media, civil society and development practitioners during a panel discussion. At the closing ceremony of the Bangladesh chapter of the Social Good Summit, participants from the essay writing and infographic contests will be awarded for their winning ideas and essays with cash and prizes.
