Orientation on SDGs for Young Civil Servants

UNDP Supported Knowledge for Development Management (K4DM) Project organized an orientation on Sustainable Development Goals for Young Civil Servants on 5 November 2017 at NEC Conference Room of the Ministry of Planning. A total of 35 young officers from different ministries and division took part in the orientation.

Mr. Jalal Ahmed, Additional Secretary (UN) and National Project Director of K4DM Project inaugurated the course and Mohammed Nazim Uddin, Deputy Secretary of UN Wing in ERD moderated the session.

Mr. Mokammel Hossain, Joint Secretary ( SDG Affairs ) in the Prime Minister’s Office and Mr. Md. Monirul Islam, Deputy Chief of General Economic Division

(GED) conducted the sessions.

In the first session, the participants were imparted knowledge on global and national context of SDGs, the goals, targets and indicators and implementation mechanism including the institutional arrangement for SDG implementation in Bangladesh.

In second session, the facilitator pointed out the challenges of SDG implementation and engagement of young civil servants to achieve the target.

In open discussion, the participants shared their experience and lesson learned in project implementation and expressed their commitment for achieving SDGs.
