|Inclusive Budgeting and Financing for Climate Resilience|
Finance Minister AMA Muhit presented a report on ‘Climate Protection and Development: Budget Report, 2017-18’ while placing the National Budget for FY 2017-18 on 1st June 2017. Finance Division published this report with the assistance from a project “Inclusive Budgeting and Financing for Climate Resilience (IBFCR)”, being implemented by the Finance Division with technical and financial support from UNDP and DFID.
IBFCR project document agreement signing ceremony was held on 30 June 2015 in Dhaka between two parties –United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bangladesh and Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Finance Division of Bangladesh signed the pro doc as Implementing partner and Economic Relation Division, Ministry of Bangladesh signed on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh while UNDP Bangladesh signed the prodoc to provide technical support in implementation.
“Within the Parliamentary general discussion session on 28 June 2017, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina praised Ministry of Finance for focusing on the prospective adverse effects of climate change in Bangladesh and giving a guideline for financing the projects against the threat. This praise followed and is directly related to the presentation of the report “Climate Protection and Development: Budget Report, 2017-18” within placing the National Budget for FY 2017-18. Finance Division published this report with the assistance from the project “Inclusive Budgeting and Financing for Climate Resilience (IBFCR)”,
