Conference of the Parties /COP23:
COP23 is the 23rd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Each year the parties to the agreement convene to assess progress in implementing the convention and dealing with climate change. Signatory countries agreed to work to limit global temperature rise to below 2 degrees Celsius and to make strong efforts to keep the rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. COP23 took place in Bonn, Germany from 6-17 November. Several technical decisions and agreements were made, and a range of commitments from governments, civil society, local governments and other partners were announced.
