|National Capacity Development for Implementing Rio Conventions through Environmental Governance|

The Rio Conventions have not yet been systematically mainstreamed in the training curricula of government training institutions. To address this distance, on 9 October 2017, the National Capacity Development for Implementing the Rio Conventions through Environmental Governance (Rio) Project of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Bangladesh held a consultation workshop with Public Training Institutes.
A total of 60 senior and mid-level officials of the National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) Dhaka participated in an engaging discussion on the Rio Conventions and status of implementation in Bangladesh
The video is published by the project titled ‘National Capacity Development for Implementing Rio Conventions through Environmental Governance’ is being implemented by Department of Environment (DoE), in collaboration with UNDP and GEF with a view to strengthening the capacities of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) to implement and comply with the obligations of Rio Conventions effectively, as the Parties to these Conventions. The Rio Convention includes the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD), UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
