UNDP Bangladesh created history by becoming the largest and highest scoring group in CIPS II history! With a 100% pass rate and an average score of 98% the team from Bangladesh proved yet again why we often set the gold standard for UNDP around the globe.

Four days of intensive training equipped UNDP staff with the tools to function more effectively in their procurement responsibilities. The training, known as (CIPS II), brought together nearly a third of the country office from diverse projects and clusters, as well as the CO Procurement Team from September 15 to 18.

The training covered numerous topics, ranging from in-depth discussions of risk assessment to contract management and how to identify key performance indicators. Procurement Advisor Carsten Hansen facilitated, coming to UNDP Bangladesh with a wealth of expertise gained from a long career with the Procurement Support Office and managing UNDP’s field offices. Over the course of seven exams, UNDP Bangladesh’s procurement staff performed outstandingly, with some colleagues even earning 100% on their written tests.

From the first week of November, participating staff will enter the second stage of their training, completing a work-based assignment for further assessment. The final results of their hard work will come early next year, when their evaluation is complete.
