JSF holds second PIC meeting

The second project implementation committee (PIC) meeting of the Justice Sector Facility (JSF) Project was held on 10 November 2013 in the meeting room of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs (MoLJPA) to support and formulate high quality implementation strategy in order to attain Project mandates.

The meeting was presided over by the Secretary, Law and Justice Division, MoLJPA and National Project Director of JSF A.S.S.M Zahirul Haque. Representatives of different Ministries of the Government of Bangladesh attended the meeting.  Among them the participants were from Law and Justice Division, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs, Bangladesh Prisons, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Supreme Court, Bar Council, JATI, Bangladesh Judicial Service Commission, ERD, Chief Technical Advisor (CTA) of JSF, Project Officer of JSF and Program Specialist of Democratic Governance Cluster, UNDP Bangladesh.

In the meeting, CTA, JSF made a presentation to update on the achievement of the project delivery status in line with the implementation strategy by CTA of JSF. CTA also updated the progress against the decisions taken in the 1st PIC meeting held on 7 July 2013.

The top agenda of the meeting included project implementation progress review, approval of the revised AWP, endorsement of the Operation Manual of Case Management Committee (CMC) and renaming of Case Management Committee (CMC) as ‘Criminal Justice Coordination Committee’ (CJCC) to be established in the pilot districts and approval of future Action Plan of the Project till December 2013.

The minutes of the first PIC meeting was endorsed by the PIC meeting members. PIC members also endorsed the draft program of the upcoming Annual Justice Sector Conference which will be held on the 14 and 15 December 2013 at the Hotel Ruposhi Bangla.
