The Officers attending the BPATC 65th Senior Staff Course at Savar paid the UNDP Country Office a visit on April 10, 2014. The 45 day long 65th Senior Staff Course (SSC) began on March 23, 2014 with a total of 29 officials of which 27 are Joint Secretaries to the government while two officials are from the defence services of Bangladesh.

The main goal of the Senior Staff Course is to enhance the participants’ capacity of dealing with national and global issues professionally, efficiently and effectively. To give a glimpse of how the UN system operates in Bangladesh and how a development agency like UNDP works in different development thematic areas , BPATC had selected UNDP Bangladesh Country Office for a visit with all of its participants.

The extended briefing session was opened by the DCD and Country Director a.i. Nick Beresford. Following him, RCO Official and the cluster heads gave presentations to explain their respective cluster’s thematic areas. Each presentation was summed up with FAQ sessions where the government officials had the opportunity to ask questions to the presenter which were answered by them with pleasure.

The visitation was completed with the government officials thanking the UNDP colleagues for their hospitality and warm attention and handed over a BPATC crest to the CO.
